And a meme to get us started:

I got married for the first time in 2007. Here’s to it being the last time I ever get married, too!

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Last year I was way too busy being proposed to on New Year’s Day to worry about any kind of a resolution. This year I think I’ll resolve something real vague like “to be healthier.”

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Sister-in-Law Sarah had her second baby, and the second teeny niece love of my life, Kate. My heart has been so warm because of my proximity to them in miles, and because of how frequently I get to see them.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
My dad’s dad, Papa passed away in August. I’m still sad about it. My Mema, however, seems to be handling it like a champ.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Does getting married count as an achievement? I got a new job. That felt like and achievement. Really, one of the biggest victories of 2007 was finding curtains for the living room that Zack and I both like. I consistently wrote my grandma letters all year long. I felt pretty good about that.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Other than the occasional kitchen disaster, I failed myself in that I didn’t take as many pictures, nor the quality of pictures that I would have liked to/know that I can.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
My ankle still creaks when it’s cold/hot/humid/dry/any type of weather at all. But aside from that and my nerve-sensitive stomach & gums, It’s been a good year.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My set of pots and pans? All the millions of things that we got with the gift cards that our loving and wonderful friends and family presented us with for the wedding? Yeah. Something like that. It surely wasn’t the jeans that I can’t even wiggle into anymore.

Merv Griffin’s. Seriously. I love that Crossword Puzzle show.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Most Hollywood starlet’s. Mainly the usuals: BritBrit, Paris, LiLo, and NicRichie.

Happier. A hell of a lot less anxious, I know that.
b) thinner or fatter? I’m fatter. Thank you, birthcontrol.
c) richer or poorer? Haven’t the slightest. Probably poorer—We both spend some time sans paychecks this fall when we were in moving transition. That’ll change soon, but not by much. I asked Zack if we were going to be filthy rich when we’re both working and he said: “No, we’ll go from super poor to just plain old poor.”

Mitt Romney

24. What was the best book you read?

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I spent my birthday mostly alone, wandering around Kerrville and Fredericksburg, Texas. Zack went on a camping/climbing trip, and I chose not to go because I wasn’t down for a shower-less birthday. I like showers. I did meet up with Zack and Caleb and Snow on that day and we ate good Italian food, and drank delicious wine. I turned 23. I was 3 weeks away from getting married. Zack had already received his ring in the mail and was wearing it, because that’s how much he loves that ring.
