I was 30 minutes late to work this morning.

I got up early this morning expressly to shave my legs.

I shaved my legs because I wore an awesome vintage pencil dress to work this morning that my mom gave me over a year ago.  I was excited about wearing the dress because I’ve been waiting for over a year to find shoes that matched the dress.

I looked like a million dollars in that dress and those shoes.  And I felt like a million dollars. Right until I stepped out of my car, and Chris Farley style split the entire dress down the back seam.

  1. Ha! Reminds me of the time that my favorite jeans suddenly had an identity crisis and decided they wanted to be short-shorts. Bent over to pick up my keys and instantly felt a breeze where no breeze should be. At least you split the dress down the seam – hopefully you can fix it and feel like a million dollars again next week. Don’t waste those perfect shoes!

  2. The EXACT SAME THING happened to a friend of mine! She got this adorable pencil vintage dress that fit perfectly everywhere except the hips, and when she got out of the car it RIPPED.
Luckily for her, her friends mother was a good seamstress. They found some contrasting fabric and added panels to the skirt of the dress, making it much fuller.
It turned it into a different style of dress, but it looked better on her anyways.
