Family Portraits

I’ve uploaded all the family reunion portraits here, if anyone would like to go look at pictures of people you don’t know.

Here’s a sampling:

Uncle Mike and Aunt Karen look lovely in a dramatic shadow caused by only one of my flashes going off.

My cousin (of some degree), Ryan, and his son, Ras.  I liked their pictures because there were both wearing such dark colors.  If it wasn’t for Ras’s buttons, they kind of look like their heads are floating.

This is what my dad’s cousin, Brian, does when you tell him you want to take his “Mug Shot.”  We all laughed so hard that we didn’t bother to take a forward-facing picture.  This one suits him just perfectly.

  1. Wow! Now I feel like a celebrity! And I think you accomplished some phenomenal photography for someone who didn’t read the manual!

  2. Jena – I especially see it in this picture because of the smirk. In real life he’s a smiling-with-teeth kind of a kid,* though, so it’s not such a marked similarity usually.

*caveat here being: He’s one of the family members that I never, ever see. Although I know who he is, he didn’t have the slightest inkling who I was. Thus, I might not be the best authority to talk about how Ras does or doesn’t usually smile, but whatever.

MP – I totally made that flickr account. :) Aunt Karen usually manages it, though. She’s the one who’s done such a good job of scanning old family photos and labeling them so that when our eldest generation passes, we’ll still have some clue as to who is who in those old pictures.

And Karen – I’ve started reading the manual :)
