On Running

It was 60 degrees outside.  The sun was shining and the breeze was perfect.  I started my run with goosebumps all over my body.  But I warmed up fast.  I took the hilliest route possible through the neighborhood.  On purpose.

I ran three miles today, and two of those three miles were sub-10 minute miles.  I’m glad it’s fall. ______________________________________________________________

For those of you who are interested, I’ve been tracking my runs at dailymile.com.  You can see them here.  I even tossed a widget over there on the sidebar for easy clicking.

I might have accidentally formulated a goal for myself today regarding how fast I want to run the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving.  These are big words from a girl who, this time last year, was hoping to simply SURVIVE the Turkey Trot.  It’s not a crazy goal, but it’s a goal.  I might even tell you what it is.  Later.  When I’m a lot closer to knowing whether or not I’m going to achieve it.

Update: Boo (Point: Boo!) forced me to dish my goal in the comment section.  The comment section feels like a safe place for it.  Public, but only seen by those who are willing to make an effort to see it.  I’m hiding it for two reasons: 50% because I’m embarrassed of it to begin with, and 50% because I’m terrified that I won’t be able to reach it.  So there.  If you want to see it, click away.
