Today was our last day in Colorado. Tomorrow we will begin our long journey home at about 0600 hours. That is early.
We made the most of our last day. Zack and I tore up the mountain on our snowboards. We hung out on a frozen lake. I shoved my hand into an ice-fishing hole to see how deep the ice was (14 inches!). (Fear not, I have not lost a limb to frostbite. I had on my gloves and jacket, which, by the way, totally live up to their waterproof claims. [Go Columbia apparel, Go!]) We ate some good chicken and dumplings and played a hilariously fun round of The Fishbowl Game*.
Zack and I come on this trip with Brady and Aimee every year, and it never disappoints. It’s a whole week with good friends, good beer (or wine, if that’s your flavor), and good snow. It’s always exactly what I need to recover from the insanity of The Holiday Season.
*Does anyone else in the world know what The Fishbowl Game is, or is that something our friend Paul made up? I’m only asking because if the world doesn’t know what this game is, I will need to tell you, because, y’all. It’s preeetttty fun.
